Face-Time: Moisturizers

Sometimes I like to think of myself as a walking pharmacy, at least when it comes to sensitive-skin care products. Moisturizers, makeup-removers, eye creams, lotions in general; you name it, I've tried it.  From a very young age I've struggled with a combination of eczema and allergies, so throughout the years my skin-care product arsenal has varied quite a bit. A few products (besides my medicated ones) have stuck, but what really mattered was, and is, the mentality with which I approached my skin.
A few weeks ago, I read an article on Seventeen about a girl who now proudly shows off her psoriasis, and I felt deeply moved and inspired by her story and her words:
"We might have conditions that make us look different from other women, but we are still beautiful."
because it wasn't until recently that I truly came to terms with the fact that my skin won't ever be as smooth as a baby's bottom. Meaning that I'm more than ok with the purple-ish dark circles on my eyes (no, I'm not sick. Yes, I'm fully aware I look like I need a nap. Even though I probably do, because naps are awesome), and that I'm more than ok to have a red patch on my upper lip that really wants to be a mustache. Bottom line being: it's ok to have whatever type of skin you have,  period.

That's why I decided to blog about my FACE-TIME: aka which are the products that have really worked on my face and how/ when I apply them. Also, I want to keep exposing the blog-o-sphere to beauty posts that go beyond makeup and manage to reach  fellow bloggers and readers who can relate to the same dry skin, hypoallergenic problems. Alas, here's my first attempt of mentioning a few products and tips (in a non sponsored way) in hopes that somebody out there in the blogging-verse finds it useful! Also, expect more eventually!!
 1. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer: After washing my face in the morning, I start off my day with this moisturizer. I've been using it for  months already and I love how it really blends in and lasts almost all day. Plus, with SPF 15 it's a no brainer.

2. Aquaphor: I always carry one of these bad boys in my purse and backpack to re-moisturize certain areas of my face throughout the day. I must admit, this product may take a while to get used to because it takes moisturizing very seriously, since its consistency is thick and a bit more gooey, so prepare to look glossy.  A little bit goes a long way with this one.

3. Avene Thermal Spring Water:  I love this spray! I've been using it for a few years now, and it's perfect to spritz on your face after a long day at college. It wakes and freshens you up instantly all while relieving any itchiness you might have.

4. No.7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream:  If  the skin around the eyes is too irritated I skip this product, yet when I do use it (usually at night) I  love how smooth my skin feels in the morning after. Sadly, in PR you can't find this brand, and mine is reaching its point of no return. Luckily, we have the internet and one can buy it through Ulta, Amazon or Target.
5. Avene Xera Calm AD: When my day is coming to a close and a shower is very much needed I use this on my whole body while showering, but it also serves as a good face wash.  Its cleansing oil is perfect to retain all the moisture water tends to dry out.

Thanks for reading, peeps!

Tell me if you found this post useful, if you use any of these products and if not, what products you use.
Sincerely, Bianca! xx
